How can I start this?
Well, this week, our group were to start our project on a Journey, which we all did on Wednesday, when we took a tram from Douglas tram station to Ballaglass Glen.
During our time in Ballaglass Glen, the Media group were told to take pictures of the glen. Andy did set it out as a competition as of whoever took the best picture would get a Mars Bar. I took a number of pics and they all turned out really good, although I had to take a lot of pics of one thing to get it right.
Then, we went back on the tram at Cornaa station to Ramsey, where we were told to take more pictures and sound recordings.

Tutorial:
Magazine Cover:
I like this magazine cover because it ha s a lot of contrast and the text/font fits well with the picture of Iron Man.
Also, I like the colours because it all fits with the movie theme, even though this is just a magazine.
Book Cover:
I love this book very much, because I know a lot about the illustrator, Dave McKean, as I had learnt about him at Ramsey Grammar.
I love how the illustration of the cat (Varjak Paw) fits well with the backgroud, as the two colours, midnight-blue and sunset-orange/yellow, complement each other.
Also, the font type and colours fit well with the whole cover.
Film Poster:
I've seen this film and it is EPIC!!
Firstly, the colours are all in "harmony" with each other as it helps to tell the theme and plot of the film (It's about Bonfire Night, Guy Fawkes and revolutions).
The font style is very bold and the white shows up well against the black background.
As for the small red font, it fits well with the background as well.
And I love the slogan: "Freedom! Forever!" As it fits well with the plot of the film.
T.V Advert:
The advert for "Direct-Line" is really good.
It shows different types of insurance and situations with everyday people.
The best thing about it though is that Winston Wolf stars as a businessman who deals with the people-almost like a boss would do.
The advert altogether is amazing and I love how Winston Wolf sorts every thing out in the end.
I love the slogan: "Can YOUR insurance do that?"

Digital Illustration
What we did in the lesson-
+We learnt all of the different tools on Photoshop
-Marquee tool
-Paintbrush tool
-Gradient tool
-Etc...
+We did different tests of layers and pictures
+We all did a surrealist picture using a shirt and a cloud
My finished picture:
I'm really proud of this, because (hard to believe) I had never done something like this before.
Even though it's really dark in some areas, the tones of the shirt, background and cloud worked really well (I think so anyway).
Six Digital images that I like:
Task 2: Find 4 examples of Sequental that I like:
Composition:
(arranging the image)
Framing: Framing a certain object/person in the image
Trapping/Oppressing: Trapping someone/something in an area of the image
Stand Out/Promience: Bright colours, tones, shadows, horizontal/vertical, lines, pointing, all of these help make a certain object/person important
Leading the Eye: The objects leadyour eye/focus to a point in the image
Cropping: Image is cut out or drawn out
Depth: The distances in the image
Movement: Object/person is blurred or in a diagonal angle
Negative Space: The area around the objects, making the image more dramatic
Symmetry: Image is the same on both sides (man-made)
Pattern: Image draws attention, repeative
Rule of thirds:
The Golden Section:

| I really like this because it's very pretty, but also very colourful and tonal. I like how the chains lead you to the background. And I like the way that everything is all faded out in the distance. |

| There is a lot of negative space around the main figure and object. The colours are very tonal and not really that bright. |
